Peoria is an art community that welcomes those who feel creative, different, passionate about making art. Being old or young is of no consequence here because there are opportunities for you to be your best self in the creation of your craft.
I began as an artist, because of a challenge from my students. I am self-taught in the beginning-- then the community of artists shared their ideas, critique and mentorship to help me continue to walk towards my best artist self. Art is a journey of emotion, texture, and more which direct me in my endless journey of the imperfection that makes human art the interesting and intriguing product that it becomes.

My creative studio is located in Peoria Heights, Illinois. -Art by Aniteb offers a unique collection of original artwork created by me but influenced by those who I have had as students, interacted with as colleagues, and most of all people met as unique people that I have met through life experience. When I meet people I try to listen to what they have to say, feel their passion in their interests. Then, if I feel a connection I convey the emotions through the paint onto a canvas. Oil Paintings
This one of many original oil paintings that I created with a vivacious student in mind who had a zest for living and a love for life. The inspiration for this Pear Person is that they were the popular one in the class, the one chosen first on the team, that everyone wanted to be around.
This Pear Person was a genuinely good person, but upon further in-depth reflection, the painting needed to show that everything in life has complexity, shadows of “self-doubt,” “what-if’s” to maintain. (What-if I am not popular anymore?) So the painting needed to show that there is no Perfect Pear, nor should there be an expectation of one.
Imperfect pears are just right even if they give an illusion of looking perfect.
I create all of my art with something or someone as inspiration.
Abstract Acrylic Paintings
Each painting is an original sent in a matted format. (Sizes, textures and mattes vary due to selection) There are many more~~ the daylight, mood and tone of the weather inspire these images.
Whimsical Children's Collection
Each painting is first created using water-color or gouache paint. These are paintings that are then photographed and used to inspire the card collection. After printing and cutting each card it is paired with an appropriately sized envelope and signed on the back. All are A-1 postage size (Thank you note size) and ready for a special thought for your person.
Children are the main focus of this series... fun, free spirited and natural images are the ideas behind the paintings.
